NETFILE - Explanations regarding the .TAX file (CRA)Starting from the tax year 2014, the manual transmission of the tax returns was removed by the CRA. Only the automatic transmission is available.
Durring the electronic transmission, the program will build a ".tax" file, which is a specially formatted file that contains your electronic tax return. The ".tax" suffix refers to the last part of the name of this file.
NOTE: The .tax file cannot be saved on your computer.
