How to register to ''My Account'' - CRA

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) encourages citizens to use online services to communicate with them. To do this, you must be registered for "My Account" of the CRA. To register, please follow the procedure below:

1 - Go to the "My Account for Individuals" page on the CRA website at the following link:

https://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/esrvc-srvce/tx/ndvdls/myccnt/menu-eng.html

2 - Click on the button "CRA register" and you will be directed to another CRA page asking you to provide some personal information to verify your identity. You will also have to enter the amount declared on one of the lines of your federal income tax return.
3 - You need to create a "User ID" and a "Password". Then select "CRA register". Note: Your password must be between 8 and 16 characters and containing at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, a number, no space, and no accent.
4 - You will also have five (5) security questions to answer. Please write them down and keep them in a safe place.
5 - The CRA will then send you your "Security code" by mail.
6 - Once you have received your "Security code", log into "My Account" with you "User ID" and "Password" on the CRA website and enter your code.
7 - You can now manage your tax affairs online through "My Account".

We suggest you write down and keep your "User ID", "Password" and the "Security questions and answers" in a safe place that is easy for you to access and to remember, as we tend to easily forget the codes we use infrequently.

Also, the CRA has created a new online mail service that allows individuals to receive some correspondence from the CRA online through "My Account".
