RL-26 slip - Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins sharesSince March 1, 2021, Capital regional et coopératif Desjardins confirmed that the capital that an investor could acquire will be $3,000 and the tax credit will be reduced to 30% or a maximum credit of $900.
If you were a resident of Quebec on December 31, 2021, you can claim the tax credit for the acquisition of Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins shares if, as a first purchaser, you purchased the shares of Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins during the period from March 1, 2021 to February 28, 2022.
To enter the information pertaining to this credit, please follow the steps below:
1. On the left-side menu of the " Interview " tab, select "Other information slips".
2. Then, on the page appearing to the right, select "RL-26 - Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins".
3. On the page that appears, enter the information from your RL-26 slip.
The non-refundable tax credit is 30% of the amount paid for the acquisition of the shares. However, the maximum amount allowed is $ 900 This amount should be displayed in Box B of the RL-26 slip.
Please note that you cannot carry forward the portion of the credit that is not claimed in the taxation year to a subsequent year.
Moreover, if you claimed a tax credit on line 422, and in future years, you request that Capital régional et coopérative Desjardins (The "Company") redeems your shares, part of the credit you received will be recovered if the shares have been held for less than seven (7) years. The Company will retain this special tax on the amount payable on redemption or purchase by agreement of the shares.
The Company will remit to Revenu Québec the amounts withheld on behalf of the person who requested the redemption or purchase by agreement of the shares.
