Quebec resident - Sharing of medical expensesBy default, the program will claim the medical expenses in the file of the person with the greatest income.
However, if you want to override the program's choice, in the file of the person wishing to claim the medical expenses, please follow the steps below:
1- On the "Left side menu of the Interview tab", select "Medical, disability, caregiver".
2- On the screen to your right, choose the line "Sharing of medical expenses".
3- On the page "Sharing of medical expenses", at the line "To modify the program's decision for Quebec medical expenses, indicate your preference here", select "Claim medical expenses for all family members" from the drop-down menu.
The program will carry the amount on line 381 of the Quebec return, as per Section C of Quebec Schedule B
