Saskatchewan graduate tuition tax credit
The graduate retention program has changed.

The new Saskatchewan graduate tuition tax credit is now on Form SK428 to the line 5826 and is used to reduce your Saskatchewan tax payable.

Starting with the 2015 tax year, you can carry forward any unused credit for nine years after the year of graduation.

You can claim this credit if you were a resident of Saskatchewan on December 31st of the taxation year and you met all the following conditions:

a) you met the necessary qualifications to complete an eligible program at an eligible educational institution.
b) You applied for and obtained a "Graduate Retention Program Eligibility Certificate" from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Advanced Education.

For more information about this program, please visit the following link:

To enter your tax credit, please follow the steps below:

1. In the "Left side menu on the Interview tab", select ''Saskatchewan tax credits".

2. On the screen to your right, choose the line "SK428 - Saskatchewan graduate retention program tuition rebate for graduates in 2020 (RC360)".

3. Enter the relevant information on the page that appears.

The program will transfer the non-refundable credit to line 63640 of Form SK428 to reduce your Saskatchewan payable income tax. However, if you do not use the credit to reduce your Saskatchewan tax to zero, the software will carry it over to line 12 of Form RC360 "Saskatchewan Graduate Retention Program".
