NETFILE - Date after opening date

If you see the message, "The NETFILE service for tax year 2019 will open on February 24, 2020. Please return on or after that date to file using NETFILE", and it is after that date, it is probably because you do not have the correct version of the program installed.

To use NETFILE, you must have version 23.10 or later installed. You can determine which version you are using as follows:

1. Please start UFile and open a tax return.
2. Click on "Help" from the menu bar at the top.
3. Click on "About UFile...".

If you have installed the latest version, it should say "Version 2019.23.01" on the second line.

If you don't have the correct version for NETFILE, please update your program as follows:

If the tax year is 2014:

1. Click on "Tools" from the menu.
2. Click on "Program Updates".
3. Click on "Check for Updates".

If the tax year is 2015+:

1. Click on "help" menu from the top-right corner.
2. Choose the option "Check for Updates...".
3. Click on "Check for Updates".

If you have problems updating this way, you can also download and install the latest version as follows:

1. Completely close the application.
2. Download the latest version (which includes all updates) at:

http://downloads.drtax.ca/ufile/UF2016GQ2ZJCFP8TNKK8MYWK7/ufile2016.exe

3. Save it to your Desktop.
4. Double-click the file on your Desktop. When asked to "Repair" or "Remove", select "Remove" and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
5. Double-click the file on your Desktop a second time. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

Finally, verify the date on your computer. Click or double-click (depending on your version of Windows) the clock in the lower right corner of your screen, and adjust the date if necessary.
