Error - Runtime error (2006/2007) (Copying DLL)

If you have Internet Explorer installed on your computer, is the version more recent than version 7?

None of the versions of UFile for Windows prior to 2008 are compatible with these newer versions of Internet Explorer. It does not matter whether you use Internet Explorer or Firefox or any other web browser, just the fact that it is installed on your system will cause UFile for Windows to crash.

The following is a workaround that will allow you to access prior versions of UFile for Windows without having to revert to Internet Explorer 7.To do so, you need to have UFile 2008 or 2009 installed on your computer.

NOTE: This procedure can be applied to UFile for Windows for both 2006 and 2007.

Please follow these steps:

1. Close all versions of UFile.
2. Click "Start" and select "My Computer" or "Computer".
3. Double-click  on "Local Disk (C :)".
4. Locate one of these folders:

"C:\Program Files\UFILE 2008" or
"C:\Program Files\UFILE 2009".

NOTE: For 64-bit versions of Windows, the folders are:

 "C:\Program Files(x86)\UFILE 2008"
 "C:\Program Files(x86)\UFILE 2009".

5. Right-click on the file dthtmllabeldll.dll and choose "Copy".
6. Return to "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)".
7. Click  "UFile 2006" or "UFile 2007".
8. Right-click on a blank part and choose "Paste".
9. You will receive a warning message that the file already exists, accept to replace the existing file.
10. Close the window.

You can now open a tax return with UFile 2006 or UFile 2007.
