EFILE - Code 2139When you transmit your client's return via EFILE, you will either receive a confirmation number meaning we have accepted the return for processing or an error message requesting you to make a correction before retransmitting the return.
A code 2139 may be displayed on your acknowledgement next to your client's last name, informing you that the particular return may be selected for this pre-assessment verification review. This indicator does not mean that supporting documents are required.
This indicator informs you that the CRA will review the tax returns, that the processing of the return could be delayed and that supporting documents may be requested.
NOTE: Any documentation relating to the tax return must be preserved and sent to the Canada Revenue Agency only upon request.
