EFILE - indicator 2139When you transmit your client's return via EFILE, you will either receive a confirmation number meaning we have accepted the return for processing or an error message requesting you to make a correction before retransmitting the return.
A code (# 2139) may be displayed on your acknowledgement, informing you that the particular return may be selected for this pre-assessment verification review. This indicator does not mean that supporting documents are required. This review could delay processing of the return.
This indicator informs you that the CRA will conduct a review of these statements, could delay processing of the return and the supporting documents MAY BE REQUESTED. Any documentation relating to the tax return must be preserved and sent to the Canada Revenue Agency ONLY on request.
