Forms Printing Manager Print this page

The Forms Printing Manager provides a convenient way for you to define various printing options (e.g., which form groups to print, number of copies, printers, watermarks, headers, and footers) that you want to use with various form groups.

These printing options are saved together as a settings group that you can name. You may have as many settings group as you would like. For example, you may define one settings group to print only documents that you want to distribute to recipients, and another to print all documents that you want to keep for your records.

When it comes time to print, you have the option of either manually selecting various printing options, or using the already pre-defined ones from one of the Forms Printing Manager settings groups.

See the Printing page for more information about printing.

The Forms Printing Manager is composed of three main parts:

Manager

The Manager lets you define the following options:

Each of these options is defined separately for each form group. For example, you may want to print recipient-type form groups with a "Client Copy" watermark, exclude certain in-house form groups from printing, and print the remaining form groups without a watermark.

To make changes to a particular settings group, select that settings group from the drop-down list located in the upper-right corner of the window.

Note: You cannot make changes to the "default" settings group. See the Configurator section below for more information on creating a new settings group which can be modified.

Options

This section lets you define the headers/footers that you want to display on the printed forms. You can define different headers/footers for different form groups. Only the form groups for which you have indicated there should be a header and/or footer on the Manager tab will appear in the list of form groups on the Options tab. For both headers and footers, you have three items available:

Note: Headers and footers will only appear on forms sent to a printer. They will not appear on forms saved to a PDF file, or forms sent to DT File Cabinet.

Configurator

This section is composed of two parts:

List of settings

When you install DT FormMax, you are provided with a "default" settings group. This settings group uses your Windows default printer for all form groups, and is configured to print one copy of all forms. You cannot make changes to the "default" settings group. However, you can create (Add) a new settings group and make changes to that one. You can have as many settings group as you want. Only one can be selected each time you print.

If you want to create a new settings group which is only slightly different from an existing one, the best thing to do is to Copy the existing one and make the necessary changes, instead of creating (Add) a new settings group from scratch.

List of watermarks

This is where you define the names to use for watermarks. When you install DT FormMax, you are provided with three sample watermarks that cannot be changed:
