Internal note regarding RPP past-services contributions

Enter contributions to a registered pension plan other than those from a T4 with RPP-Contrib, which opens a group for other RPP contributions and/or rollover limits.

The following options are applicable for the keyword RPP-Contrib.

  • RPP current and past service contribution
  • Enter any RPP current and past service contribution from sources other than a T4.
  • Portion of RPP pre-1990 past service (not a contributor)
  • Enter the portion of the RPP contributions that is related to pre-1990 past service contributions while not a contributor. You may get a deduction of up to $3,500 per year.
  • Portion of RPP pre-1990 past service (contributor)
  • Enter the portion of RPP contributions that is related to pre-1990 past service contributions while a contributor. You may get a deduction of up to $3,500 per year after the deduction claimed for RPP current and past services for 1990 and later years and pre-1990 past service contributions while not a contributor.
  • RPP ded. limit pre-1990 past service (not a contributor)
  • Enter the limit to be applied to the deduction for pre-1990 past service contributions while not a contributor.
  • RPP c/f pre-1990 past service (contributor)
  • RPP c/f pre-1990 past service (not a contributor)
  • Enter contributions paid in the previous years with respect to past services, and which have remained unused. These contributions may be used in the course of the current taxation year or in subsequent years.
Use [Alt-J] to enter different values for other jurisdictions.

Select the type of foreign retirement plan contributions [RC267, RC268, RC269].

The following options are applicable for the keyword Foreign-RP.

  • Contrib. to a US Employer-Sponsored RP (RC267)
  • Contrib. to a US RP by a commuter from Canada (RC268)
  • Contrib. to a FPP or to a SSA other than US (RC269)
