Use the keyword T3P to indicate whether a T3P form should be completed. Trustees of a trusteed pension plan must complete this form every year.

Use the keyword Plan-Number to enter the pension plan's registration number.

Use the keyword File-T3return to indicate whether the trust also filed a related T3 Trust Income Tax and Information Return. This information will be captured on the T3P Return with the accompanying trust account number.

Use the keyword Trust-Acct-Num.p if the trust is also filing a related T3RET, T3 Trust Income Tax and Information Return.

If the trust or pension corporation transferred the plan assets use the keyword Transfer-Asset to enter the name of the new trust, pension corporation, or insurance company to whom the funds were transferred.

Use the keyword Disbursements to list all disbursements and losses of the pension plan in the tax year. These amounts will be entered on Schedule 2 of form T3P. Schedule 2 may replace the financial statements if all contributions, forfeitures and income received by the trustees were invested in life insurance, annuity, deposit administration or segregated fund contracts and they were held by the trust.

The following options are applicable for the keyword Disbursements.

  • Pension benefits paid
  • Annuities purchased
  • Administration costs and expenses
  • Capital losses
  • Other disbursements (specify)

Secondary keywordReceipts-Gains

Use the keyword Receipts-Gains to list all receipts and gains of the pension plan in the tax year. These amounts will be entered on Schedule 2 of form T3P. Schedule 2 may replace the financial statements if all contributions, forfeitures and income received by the trustees were invested in life insurance, annuity, deposit administration or segregated fund contracts and they were held by the trust.

The following options are applicable for the keyword Receipts-Gains.

Use the keyword S207-1-5 to enter the amount determined on Form T2000 on line 241.

If the trust or pension corporation entered into an agreement to acquire shares of the capital stock of a corporation at a price that differed from their fair market value when acquired, it may have to pay tax under section 207.1(5). In this case, complete Form T2000 Calculation of tax on agreements to acquire shares, and attach it to this return.

  • Choosing "Future tax liability" indicates that the refund is to be kept and applied to taxes payable in the following year.
  • Other tax liability
  • Choosing "Other tax liability" indicates that the refund is to be held and applied to an expected assessment of an additional amount to be paid. A letter providing details should be attached.
