Deploying DT Max

DT MAX is a workstation application. DT MAX is not a cloud-based application or a server application. Using the application in the cloud will not work very well for the DT MAX application or database and will result in data corruption.

Running DT MAX from an application server can be made to work, but you are responsible for configuring and maintaining the configuration.

Ideally DT MAX is installed on individual workstations. A central DT MAX database can be located on a file server and will work very well.

DT MAX must be installed and updated using the same Windows user account.

If you are installing DT Max on a single computer which is to be used by one or more user accounts, please take careful note:

To avoid error messages, the Windows user account that was used during the initial installation of DT Max is the only account that must be used to update DT Max. There are no exceptions to this rule. All other Windows users must have their automatic update feature disabled. To update DT Max, follow these steps:

1. Log in using the account of the primary user of this computer.

2. Install DT Max

3. Log out and log in to the accounts of each of the other users of this computer in turn.

4. Launch DT Max and select Check for Program Updates from the Tools menu on each computer and untick the box Check automatically.
