The latest DT Max program update is now available for downloading and features the fully functional T1/TP-1 program for the tax years 2013 to 2024 inclusively. Installing this version will update your version of DT Max to 28.05.

Please note that in regard to the T1/TP-1 program, version 28.05 supports paper filing but does not support EFILE transmission for taxation year 2024 due to its early release date. The EFILE module will be integrated in the next version of DT Max that will be stamped 28.10 and made available via www.thomsonreuters.ca/en/dtpro to all DT Max clients. This will take place as soon as we receive all relevant certifications towards the end of January or early February 2025.

Please note that all program versions are made available on the Internet.

DT Max T1

  1. T1 federal EFILE setup: CRA password now masked

As mandated by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) the CRA password within the federal T1 EFILE setup is now masked. The CRA takes the protection of personal information extremely seriously, it has been engaged in conducting vulnerability assessments of the T1 EFILE service to determine its exposure to targeted attacks. In today's increasingly digital world, no organization is immune from fraudulent activity. Throughout the course of the past filing season, the CRA has become aware of EFILE vulnerabilities associated to the EFILE credentials (EFILER number/password) which can lead to fraudulent transmissions being submitted, using commercially available EFILE-certified software products. The exposure of the EFILE password within the software poses security risks for clients which the CRA is looking to mitigate by mandating the masking of the CRA password. Please note the Quebec Web access code will also be masked as a result of this mandate.
