My client received an RC62 slip with an amount in box 10 indicating a retroactive payment of the Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB). DT Max carried this amount over to line 117 of the federal return, but not on line 278 of the Quebec return. Is this correct?
No. This amount should appear on line 278 of the Quebec return. If your client has a spouse, this amount should appear on the return of the person with the lowest net income.
As a workaround, follow these steps:
-
Use the keyword Override in the file of the spouse with the lower net income, and enter the appropriate amount on Quebec line 278.
-
Then use the keyword Efile-Quebec and select the option "Yes - even if ineligible".
