AmendedUse the keyword Amended to enter the text you wish to see appear as watermark on each page of the tax return.The following options are applicable for the keyword Amended.
ReasonChange.aFor amended returns, please enter a relevant description of changes using the keyword ReasonChange.a.The T2 Bar Code Return (T2 BCR) and the CIF format captures information from an amended return. The amended T2 BCR or CIF must include all returns and schedules, i.e. not only the returns and schedules revised. All schedules included in the amended T2 BCR or CIF are considered as amended. This means data from amended schedules will overlay the previous data.
An amended T2 BCR or CIF cannot be used to change the following information:

BlockThe keyword Block is used to prevent the processing of a client and provide a reason for the blocking. Whenever this keyword is used, the processing status will be changed to "Blocked" and no calculation of the client's return will be allowed. To remove the blocking, delete the keyword Block as you would any other keyword, using [Ctrl-Backspace].
RestrictIf your DT Max security system is being used, select the option "Yes" in the keyword Restrict, in the record of any client, to prevent the data from being accessed by anyone except the accountant responsible. The keyword Partner is used to assign responsibility for a particular client.The following options are applicable for the keyword Restrict.
DisclaimerIf the firm requires a disclaimer, use the Disclaimer keyword and either enter a desired disclaimer statement or choose the option "Generic disclaimer" to indicate the following disclaimer: "Prepared without audit or review from information supplied by management".The user-defined disclaimer will then be printed at the end of all income tax returns. ClientLetterTo use a customized client letter for this client, enter the keyword ClientLetter and the name of the file containing the client letter. If it is not in the same subdirectory as DT Max, enter the full path as well as the name.The knowledge base explains how to customize the client letter. The keyword help [Ctrl+F8] for Letter-Data has a current list of %-variables, which can be used in the client letter.
Letter-DataUse the keyword Letter-Data to override the value of any variable that is printed on the client letter.This keyword can also be used to enter the text for the custom variables %201 to %210 which are put aside for your own use. You can use these custom variables to represent whatever information you want to communicate in your client letter. Enter the keyword Letter-Data and select the variable code in the tree structure that you want to modify and the text that you wish to print for this variable. If you select a numeric value for Letter-Data, this value can be used in a %IF statement in the client letter. If you enter the same text frequently, you may wish to set up a text macro to enter such a text for Letter-Data.

The authorization or power of attorney will remain valid until the specified date unless it is revoked by the person identified in Part 1 of the MR-69 form or by that person's legal or authorized representative.If no entry is made for this keyword, the authorization or power or attorney will remain valid indefinitely.
Custom-SchedThe keyword Custom-Sched enables you to enter a customized message or schedule in DT Max. After you enter this keyword, choose the appropriate option to tell DT Max what you want to do with the sum, result or calculation.You may want to create a supporting schedule for a calculation for your own files, for your client or to send to the CRA. If this involves a calculation, enter the amount and short description with the keyword Item. Then enter positive amounts for items to be added and negative amounts for items to be deducted. DT Max will produce a list of the items entered. See the keyword Custom-Text to obtain information on how to customize a schedule. The following options are applicable for the keyword Custom-Sched.
Title.cusUse the keyword Title.cus to enter the title of the customized schedule or message.
Custom-TextUse the keyword Custom-Text to enter the text that you want to appear on a custom schedule (see Custom-Sched).You may also enter a title or heading for your form or schedule. This title will appear exactly as you have entered it. Enter as much text as you require to explain the purpose of the schedule. If necessary, you may continue by using a second Custom-Text keyword. Make sure that you have a sensible beginning and ending for every screenful of text (the beginning and end of a paragraph, for example) as these will be preceded and followed by a blank line. You can enter as many screenfuls of text as you want. DT Max can handle different texts for different jurisdictions. However, once a new text box is opened using [ALT-J], the entire text box is replaced. If you only want to replace a portion of text, enter it in a separate text box.
FormIf the customized schedule (see Custom-Sched) refers to a particular form associated with the tax return, use the keyword Form to identify the schedule to be affected.
FieldIf the customized schedule (see Custom-Sched) refers to a particular field or line number of the income tax return, use the keyword Field to identify the field or line number to be affected. DT Max will then add to or override that field, as requested.
ItemUse the keyword Item to create an itemized list. It will print each amount next to its associated text.
E-SignatureThe keyword E-Signature is used to specify the form which is to be electronically signed.The following options are applicable for the keyword E-Signature.
E-Sign-DateDate specified within Part 3 of the T183 form:When selecting the option Client signed electronically, use the keyword E-Sign-Date to indicate the date on which the T183 form is to be electronically signed. The date and time will be transmitted to the Canada Revenue Agency. Any modification to the date and time must be made prior to requesting an electronic signature. The date being transmitted to the Canada Revenue Agency must match the date specified on the T183 form. When selecting the option Client signed and dated electronically, use the keyword E-Sign-Date to indicate the date on which the T183 form was electronically signed. If the T183 form is being electronically signed and dated, then it is the client who will be completing the date on the T183 form. The date and time of the T183 electronic signature are transmitted to the Canada Revenue Agency. The transmitted date must match the information specified on the electronically signed T183 form. The T183 form must always be completed prior to transmitting the federal income tax return.
The following options are applicable for the keyword E-Sign-Date.
E-Sign-TimeThe keyword E-Sign-Time specifies the time the T183 form was electronically signed. The allowable format is HH:MM:SS.Note: If the return is being electronically signed and dated, then it is the client who will be completing the date on the T183 form. The time can be entered with the keyword E-Sign-Time . The date and time of the T183 signature are transmitted to the Canada Revenue Agency. The transmitted date must match the information specified on the electronically signed T183 form. The T183 form must always be completed prior to transmitting the federal income tax return.
InfoScheduleInfoSchedule allows you to enter any forms on page 2 of the T2 return which will be done manually by you. These forms will be ticked as attached to the return on page 2 of the T2 return. These forms are not supported by DT Max at this time, but you can use the Custom-Sched keyword group to design the form you require.The following options are applicable for the keyword InfoSchedule.

NotesThe keyword Notes is used to record permanent comments or notes in a client's file. These notes remain in the file until they are deleted. Any number of separate notes can be entered. These notes have no effect on tax calculations or printing of the tax return. The data entered with Notes is not sent to the audit trail.
Notes-AnnualThe keyword Notes-Annual is used to record comments or notes relevant to a client's current tax year file only. This includes notes regarding the preparation of the client's tax return for the current tax year. This keyword may be used to communicate with the verifier or partner. Use one such Notes-Annual keyword for every line of text. Any number of separate notes can be entered. This has no effect on tax calculations or printing of the tax return. The data entered using Notes-Annual will not remain in the client's file in the following year, nor will it be sent to the audit trail.
Notes-AuditThe keyword Notes-Audit is used to record notes pertaining to the client or to the preparation of his income tax return, in his audit trail. Any number of separate notes can be entered. This keyword has no effect on tax calculations or printing. When the client's data is saved, his NOTES-AUDIT will be moved from the client's file to his audit trail. Therefore, when you next edit this client's file, both the NOTES-AUDIT keyword and text will have disappeared from the client's file.
List-Memo1Use List-Memo1 to enter a short memo for a given client, which will appear in the client list. For instance, this keyword can be used for reminders.In order for the List-Memo1 entry to be displayed, you must tick the appropriate box in Preferences > Client list settings so that the memo column will appear in the list. Note that this memo is an annual entry and as such, it is not carried forward from one year to the next.
List-Memo2Use List-Memo2 to enter a short memo for a given client, which will appear in the client list. PartnerThe keyword Partner is entered with the partner's ID. This will allocate the client to that partner. The ID will be associated with the client in the Client list, and you will be able to filter according to "partner" to see his clients only, or to check their progress.
StaffUse the keyword Staff to assign responsibility for entering a client's data to a particular staff member.
VerifierUse the keyword Verifier to indicate what member of staff is responsible for verifying the client's T2 return.
Client-CodeUse the keyword Client-Code to identify or locate a client's file.
Firm-AddressFirm-Address is used to choose which firm address to print on the tax return and associated documents. This entry will override the user's defaults.The following options are applicable for the keyword Firm-Address.
Inactive-FileThe keyword Inactive-File is used to prevent the processing of a client's file. Whenever this keyword is used, the processing status will be changed and no calculation of the client's return will be allowed. To remove this restriction, delete the keyword Inactive-File as you would any other keyword, using [Ctrl-Backspace].The following options are applicable for the keyword Inactive-File.
Plan-TitleWhen in tax planning mode, the keyword Plan-Title enables you to enter a brief title to distinguish one plan from another. This title will appear on the plan itself.
Plan-NotesWhen in tax planning mode, the keyword Plan-Notes may be used to add notes to the plan. These may serve as a reminder of aspects unique to this tax plan.
PrintFileAny ASCII file can be printed as part of the tax return. The file must be saved without any fonts or formatting (as what is often called a "print file", perhaps with a ".prn" suffix). Enter the keyword PrintFile and the complete name and path of your file, as in the following example: PrintFile "F:\T2TAX\ABC-INC\R&D.PRN". This file may have been generated with another software, such as an accounting package, a spreadsheet program or a word processor. The file would then be printed as directed in the setup of your output controls from the Printing option in the Setup and preferences menu.
ProgressThe keyword Progress can be used to record the progress of your file. You can enter each action as it takes place, with the date and some notes to enable you to keep track of your progress.Enter the date of the change in the progress status and select from the options available. Note that this information can also be entered for a batch of clients by changing the client status in the Client list. The following options are applicable for the keyword Progress.

TimeStampThe keyword TimeStamp displays the date and time of the electronically submitted document.
ACK-NumberThe keyword ACK-Number displays the confirmation number of the electronically submitted document.
