The keyword Fed-EfileMethod specifies your preferred method of transmission.
You may choose between your own federal EFILE number and password or the corporation's Web-assigned Access Code.
The following options are applicable for the keyword Fed-EfileMethod.
The keyword WebAccessCode is to be used to enter the corporation's assigned Web Access Code.
To obtain a Web Access Code, please contact the Corporation Internet Filing Help Desk. For corporations resident in Canada, call 1-800-959-2803. For non-resident corporations, call 1-613-221-3223. Please note the Canada Revenue Agency does accept collect calls.
Alternatively, you may request a Web Access Code by fax where you will have to provide the corporation's name, business number and tax year end. Send the request to the attention of the "Corporation Internet Filing Help Desk" in Shawinigan at 819-536-4486 or Winnipeg at 204-984-0418.
When electronically transmitting a corporation's income tax return, the Canada Revenue Agency's (CRA) system can also accept the transmission of certain types of documents. The attachments are automatically submitted upon the successful transmission of the federal corporate return. For each attachment being submitted, you must complete the information below:
- The type of document being attached, - The file name being attached, and - A description of the attached file.
The CRA will accept the following file types:
- pdf - doc - docx - xls - xlsx - rtf - txt - jpg - jpeg - tiff - tif - xps
The number of attachments must match the number of file names provided and the total size, for all attachments, cannot exceed 150 Mb.
The CRA will not accept an attachment if the associated federal corporate income tax return was filed more than 24 hours ago. Under such a situation, the document(s) would have to be mailed to the applicable tax center.
Note: the CRA's system can accept the transmission of a federal return but reject the associated attachment. You can confirm the acceptance of the attachment, within the data entry window, through the keyword Progress and the option "Efile acknowledgement - federal attachment".

CRA T2 Auto-fill service A capital dividend account is a notional account that is calculated for a private corporation. The account consists of an ongoing calculation that includes specific non-taxable amounts from as early as 1972 and continues to when the account is being reviewed. Since the account is an ongoing calculation, the balance can change at any point of the year. For example, any time a capital property is sold, the gain or loss affects the balance in the account at once.

This selection also provides the debit/credit balance for a period-end that has been assessed, including accrued interest calculated to the current date, but does not include amounts under dispute, amounts not yet due, amounts not yet applied, or held credits. The accounting information is summarized by period-end(s) based on accounting transactions that occurred on the account in the previous five calendar years, up to and including the current date. If applicable, accounting information older than five calendar years will be totaled and summarized in prior periods. Information will be displayed in chronological order.
