Pro bono tax return
If you are a tax professional, you can indicate that you have
filed a free income tax return, or on a pro bono basis.
For each family member for whom you file a no-cost return, you
must, follow this procedure.
In the "Left-side menu on the Interview tab", select
"CRA questions".
In the page that appears, go to the bottom of this page, and
in the "Type of preparer of tax returns" section, on the
line "Select the type of preparer", in the menu on the
right, choose "Professional".
Subsequently, on the line "Was a fee charged to prepare the
return". In the menu on your right, choose "No", because
the program shows "Yes" by default.
On the last page of the federal tax return, at the very
bottom of it, box 49000 will indicate that there has been no
billing fee.
Field 49000 of the data filed to the CRA indicates that
this tax return, prepared by a professional, was not billed
because "Value 2" is entered in this column.
