T2205 - RRSP spousal transfers
Please note that the program does not support Form
T2205. Therefore, we recommend that you contact the CRA to
determine whether entering the information on our T4RSP slip is
sufficient. If this is the case, please follow the procedure
outlined below:
1- On the "Left side menu on the Interview
tab", select "Interview setup".
2- On the right side of the page, go to the
"Pension" group, check the box for "Pension income, other
income and spit pension (T4A, T4A(OAS), T4A(P), T4A-RCA, T4RSP,
T4RIF, T1032)" and click on "Next" at the bottom of
page.
3- Return to the "Left side menu on the Interview
tab" and select "T4A and pension income".
4- On the page that appears on the right, choose the
line "T4RSP - Income from Registered Retirement Savings Plan
(RL-2)".
5- On the page "T4RSP - RRSP income (RL- 2)",
select the section "Box 22 - Early spousal withdrawals (RL-2 box
C)" and enter the amount in box 22.
6- Enter the federal tax in box 30, and for Quebec
residents enter the Quebec tax in box J.
The amount of a premature withdrawal from the RRSP
will be reported by the program to line 12900 of the federal
return and, for Quebec residents, to line 154 of the Quebec
return with code 05 displayed on line 153.
As mentioned above, the program does not support Form
T2205 and we recommend that you contact the CRA to determine
whether the information contained in our T4RSP is sufficient.
Please note that you can visit the CRA website to print Form T2205
in order to complete it manually and file it along with your
federal return by mail.
