RL-1 slip - Box O, code RQ - Retirement
Compensation Arrangement
The amounts paid to you under a retirement compensation
arrangement must be declared in an RL-1 slip with an amount entered
in Box O and Code RQ because they are taxable.
This benefit cannot be split as pension income with your
spouse.
To report this amount, please follow the steps below:
1. On the "Left-side menu on the Interview tab", select
the "T4A and pension income".
2. On the page that appears on the right, click the plus
sign "+" icon to the right of the line "T4A-RCA
- Statement of Distributions from a Retirement Compensation
Arrangement (RCA)".
3. A new page will appear. Enter the amount in Box 16, as well
as the other information from
your T4A-RCA slip.
4. For Quebec residents, if the amount in Box O of the RL-1 slip
is different from the one on the T4A slip, enter the T4A amount and
click on the "Maple Leaf" icon. A box for Quebec will appear
for you to enter the amount for Quebec. This box will only appear
if you enter the federal amount first.
The amount will be carried forward by the program
to line 13000 of the federal return and to line
154 of the Quebec return, and code 03 will be entered on line 153
of Quebec (if applicable).
