Income from foreign dividends
To enter the amount of income from foreign dividends, please
follow the steps below:
1. On the "Left side menu on the Interview tab"
select "Interview setup".
2. On the page that appears on the right, go to the
"Investment income and expenses" group, check the
box "Foreign income and foreign property (T1135)"
and click on "Next" at the bottom of the page.
3- Return to the "Left side menu on the Interview
tab" and select "Foreign income and
property".
4- On the right-hand side, select "Income from foreign
dividends".
5- On the page titled, "Foreign Income -
Dividends", enter the relevant information.
The amount will be reported by the program on line 12100 of the
federal return and for Quebec residents on line 130 of the Quebec
return.
The program will generate form T2209 - to calculate
federal credits for foreign taxes, and for residents of
Quebec, form TP-772 Foreign Tax Credit, if
applicable.
These forms will show you where foreign tax credits will be
entered if applicable.
