Ontario childcare access Tax Credit
As of January 1, 2019, and beyond, you
may be able to claim the "Refundable Ontario childcare access
credit" if you meet all the following conditions.
* You were a resident of Ontario
at the end of the tax year.
* You claimed an amount for
childcare expenses on line 21400 of your federal return for one or
more eligible children.
* If you were bankrupt
in 2019, you cannot claim this tax credit on your return for
any taxation year ending in 2019.
To claim this refundable credit on line 47900 of your
federal return, the program will generate Schedule
ON479A.
1 - On the head of the family's file, choose the "Ontario tax
credits" section located on the "Left side menu on the
Interview tab".
2 - On the screen to your right click on
the plus sign "+" icon
located to the right of the line "Assigning Ontario credits
to one spouse or the other".
3 - On the page that appears, go to the section "Ontario
childcare access and relief expenses (CARE) tax credit", for
the line "You can decide how to claim this credit" in the
field to your right choose the option "Let MaxBack
decide".
Note the program will determine the person
who can claim the childcare expenses and allocate the refundable
credit to them.
