Political contribution tax credit - Prince Edward
Island
You can claim a credit for the contributions you made in the tax
year to a recognized political party of Prince Edward Island or to
a candidate seeking election to the Prince Edward Island
Legislative Assembly
To claim the amount in the program, please follow these
steps
1- On the "Left side menu on the Interview
tab", select "Prince Edward Island tax
credits"
2- On the page to your right, click on the plus
"+" icon to the right of the line "PE 428
line 63420 - Prince Edward Island political contributions tax
credit"
3- On the new page generated, enter the amount of contributions
in the field "Provincial eligible political
contributions" and click "Next" at the
bottom of the page
The program will calculate the amount for the Prince Edward
Island Political Contribution Tax Credit, based on your total
contributions, and report it to line 63420 of the
PE428 - Prince Edward Island Tax and Credits
form.
If your total political contributions are more than
$1,150, the credit will be $500 (maximum amount). If
not, it will be calculated on line 88 of the PE Provincial
worksheet from the left side menu, under the "Tax Return"
tab.
