Part-time program scholarships
If you are claiming the amount on part-time studies, the
scholarship you received is used to pay tuition fees and costs of
materials for the program.

To claim this credit, please follow the steps below:
1. On the "Left-side menu on the Interview
tab", select the "Interview setup".
2. On the page that appears to the right, go to the
"Pension" group as well as
"Student" group.
3. In the "Pension" group, check
"Pension income, other income and split pension income
(T4A, T4A(OAS), T4A(P), T4A-RCA, T4RSP, T4RIF, T1032)"
Then in the "Student" group, check
"Tuition, education, textbooks, student loans" and
click "Next" at the bottom of the page.
4. Return to the "Left-side menu on the Interview
tab" and select "T4A and Pension
income".
5. On the right-side page, click on the plus
sign "+" icon to the right of the line
"T4A - Pension, retirement, annuity and other
income".
6. On the newly generated page, go to "Other Information
(click on the triangle to see the list of choices)" and
choose "(105) Part-time program scholarships" and
in the next field enter the amount of your scholarship.
7. Return to the "Left-side menu on the Interview
tab" and select the "Tuition, education, student
loans".
8. On the right page, click on
the plus "+" icon to the right of
the line "Tuition, amount (line 32300)"and in the
page that is generated, enter the information about your program
and other essential information.
9. Go back to "Tuition, educations, student
loans" section on the right-side page, click the
on plus sign "+" icon to the
right of the line for "Part-time program details if you
received scholarship, fellowship, and bursary income to be included
at line 13010 ".
10. In the generated page, enter the amount of your tuition fees
and the cost of materials related to your program.
If you do not enter an amount on this page, a
"Warning" will be generated by the program
under the "Review" tab, informing you that an
entry is required to complete your file.
An amount may be carried over to line 13010 of the federal
return. If this is the case, go to the line "Worksheet
(Federal)" in the "Left-side menu of the Tax
Return tab".
On this worksheet, you will notice that for "Line 13010
- Scholarship, fellowship, or bursary eligible for the part-time
education amount only" a calculation is performed to
generate the amount displayed on line 13010 of your federal
return.
For residents of Quebec, there is no impact on their tax
return.
