Tuition Fees - Quebec
To qualify, tuition fees must exceed $100 for all
institutions.
Tuition fees must be entered in the student's file.
Please follow the steps below:
1. On the "Left-side menu on the Interview tab", select
"Interview setup".
2. On the "Interview setup" page, go to the
"Student" group, check the "Tuition, education,
textbooks, student loans" box as well as the other groups
required to complete your income tax return and click on
"Next" at the bottom of the page.
3. Return to the "Left-side menu on the Interview tab"
and select the "Tuition, education, student loans"
section.
4. On the screen to your right, click on the plus
sign "+" to the right of the line "Tuition amounts
(line 32300)".
5. On the page titled "Tuition, Education and textbook amount
(T2202, TL11A, TL11C)".
6. On the "Current year tuition amount" section, go to
line "RL - 8 box A - Amount for postsecondary studies" and
enter the information from your RL- 8.
7. On the line "Eligible tuition fees paid to Canadian
educational institutions for 2019 (Enter description in the first
field and the amount in the $." Field)". If you attended more
than one establishment, click on the plus sign
"+" on your right and a new field will be added.
8. Enter the number of months of full-time or part-time
post-secondary education, based on the information on your
T2202 slip.
The program will generate Schedule T to determine the
tuition fee amount.

Please note that you can carry forward this amount to a future
year, or transfer it to a parent or grandparent.
To do this, in the section "Transfer of unused amounts",
go to the subsection, "Quebec Schedule T: For Quebec tax
purposes, you can transfer unused Quebec schedule T amounts to a
parent or carry them forward to use in future years".
On the line "Treatment of unused Quebec tuition and
examination fees tax credits" in the drop-down menu, right
choose the option that suits you.
In addition, the amount in Box A of the RL-8 slip is
transferable via the section "Treatment of Quebec post-secondary
education tax credits (Quebec Schedule S)".
However, this amount may be reduced or cancelled based on the
solidarity tax credit you received. Please complete the following
field. "Solidarity tax credit received in the taxation year
(Schedule S L.10)".
