Rental income - Claim for percentage of
expenses
If certain rental expenses should not be deducted in full,
please follow the steps below:
1. On the "Left side menu on the Interview tab", select
"Rental Income" and select the subsection "Income,
expenses".
2. On the page that is displayed, enter your income
and expenses.
3. However, if one or several expenses should not be deducted in
full, go to the line " If less than 100% of an expense
above applies to the business, enter the applicable
percentage ", that is the portion that applies to the
rental property. The balance is presumed to represent your use for
personal purposes.
Do not use this option to adjust the total expenses for your
percentage share ownership of the rental property. This is done
automatically by the program using the co-owner's percentage
information, when applicable.
