Legal fees to recover wages
You can deduct legal fees that you paid in the year to collect
or to establish a right to collect wages or a salary from an
employer or a former employer.
However, you must reduce your claim by any amount awarded to you
for those fees or any reimbursement you received for your legal
fees.

To enter this amount in the program, please follow the steps
below:
1. On the "Left side menu on the Interview tab", select
"Interview setup".
2. On the right-hand side of the screen, go to the
"Employment and other benefits" group, check the box for
"Employment expenses" and click "Next" at the bottom
of the page.
3. Return to the "Left side menu on the Interview tab" and
select "Employment expenses".
4. On the page generated on the right, click on
the plus"+" icon to the right of the line
"Legal fees paid to collect salary or wages".
5. Finally, enter the required information
This amount will be reported by the program on
line 22900 of your Federal return and line 207 of
your Quebec tax return, and code 09 will be entered on Quebec line
206.
