housing - Sharing with roommates
If you share your home with one or more roommates, none of
which was your spouse and your overall monthly rent is less than
$600, divide the monthly rent by the number of co-tenants
to establish your share.
1 - On the left-side menu of
the " Interview " tab, selects
"Senior home support".
2 - On the screen to your right, choose the option "You lived in
an apartment building (other than a private senior's
residence)". In the page that appears, enter the relevant
information, if the head of household or the spouse were 70 years
or older at the end of the year are a dependent senior.
3 - Do not enter anything on the line "Did you live with one or
more co-tenants? (Do not consider your spouse)" and on the
following line.
However, if your total monthly rent is more than $600, do not
divide the overall cost of monthly rent by the number of roommates.
Nevertheless, you should consider point 3 above.
The program will calculate your percentage of eligible rent
based on the number of co-tenants.
