Quebec - Day camp fee - Child care - Activity Tax
Credit for Children
Your child has spent time in a day camp for which you
received a receipt for childcare expenses and another receipt from
the same camp for the child's activities.
However, if you have a single receipt, please ask the
issuer of the document what portion pertains to the daycare fees,
and which is the one respecting the day camp fees.
1. In the child's file, enter the childcare expenses
under the heading "Child care" and on the right-hand page,
click on the plus sign "+" icon to the
right of the line "Daycare (includes day camp)".
2. On the page that appears, enter the relevant
information. On the line "Amount paid to the daycare centre for
this child", enter the amount of federal child care expenses.
For residents of Quebec, if you received a RL-24, the amount of
Box C represents the amount eligible for the federal return,
while the amount of Box E represents the amount eligible for
Québec.
3. Then, in the "Left-side menu on the Interview
tab" select "Fitness and recreation" or "Children's
arts amount". Enter the relevant information in each item if
necessary.
The refundable credit may be claimed by the head of
the family or the spouse.
To choose the person who will claim this credit, in
the child's file, select the "Controls" heading and in the
page, that appears, go to the bottom of this page under "Quebec
activity tax credit".
For the line "Who should claim the activity tax
credit for this child Quebec line 462?", choose the person.
For residents of Quebec, the credit will be reported on
line 462 of the Quebec return of the person claiming it.
