Political contribution tax credit - Manitoba
You can claim the political contribution tax credit if you
contributed to a registered Manitoba political party or candidates
seeking election to the Manitoba Legislature in the tax year.
Since January 1, 2018, the maximum eligible contribution for the
tax credit for political contributions has been increased.
To claim this credit in the program, please follow these
steps:
1- On the "Left side menu on the Interview
tab", select "Manitoba tax credits"
2- On the page to your right, click on the plus
"+" icon to the right of the line "MB 428
line 61794 - Manitoba political contributions tax
credit"
3- On the new page generated, enter the amount of contributions
in the field "Provincial eligible political
contributions" and click "Next" at the
bottom of the page
The program will calculate the amount for the Manitoba Political
Contribution Tax Credit, based on your total contributions, and
report it to line 61794 of the MB428 -
Manitoba Tax form.
If your total political contributions are more than
$2,325, the credit will be $1,000 (maximum amount).
If not, it will be calculated on line 63 of the MB
Provincial worksheet from the left side menu, under the "Tax
Return" tab.
