Notice of Assessment after filing your tax
return
You have received a notice of assessment in which you are told
that you have claimed certain deductions twice.
For example, for donations:
Have you claimed a deduction for charitable donations that were
shown in box 46 of the T4 slip, and have you entered them again in
the "Donations/political contributions" section,
under the option "Canadian charitable donations (other than
per T4 slips and other slips)"?
Also, you may have inadvertently entered in box 46 the amount
shown in box 56 of the T4.
For example, for medical expenses:
Have you entered in the "Medical, disability,
caregiver" section, under the option "Medical
expenses", the premium you paid for your private health
services plans while this amount was already entered in box 85 of
your T4 or in box 135 of your T4A slip?
If you've checked your file and none of these errors are
present, please send us a copy of your file as per the procedure
shown at the following link:
https://www.ufile.ca/help/ask-ufile
On the page that appears, choose one of the two (2) following
options: "UFile ONLINE" or "UFile for
Windows". Then, under "Ask your question"
enter "Getting a copy of the tax file" and click
the "Search" icon; the procedure to submit a copy
of your file should appear.
Also, please send us a scanned copy of your Notice of Assessment
or send it to us by fax at 514-733-8058 to the attention of UFile
