Schedule A - Section B - Quebec
If you wish to claim the amount transferred by a child aged 18
or over enrolled in postsecondary studies to line 367 of your
Quebec tax return, you must add the child into your file as a
dependant. Please follow this procedure:
1- Under the ''Interview'',
tab online ''Family head'' or the first
person, click on ''Add
dependant'' which is located to the right on this
line.
Once you've created the dependant's file, follow these
steps:
1- On the dependant's file, under the left side menu on
the "Interview" tab select "Tuition,
education, student loans";
2- Then, on the page appearing on the right, choose " T2202
Tuition and enrolment certificate (TL11A et TL11C) (line 32300) for
the dependant ";
3 - On the page that appears, enter the relevant
information. On the line '' RL-8, box A - Amount for
post-secondary studies '' click on the drop-down
menu and choose the correct amount which
is indicated on your RL-8 in Box A;
4 - At the bottom of the screen on the line ''Solidarity tax credit
received in the taxation year (Schedule S
L.10)'' enter the total yearly amount that the dependant
received from Revenu Québec.
The program will calculate if appropriate the credit that
the child can transfer to you.
You should be able to view Schedule A on your
return by clicking on the "Tax return" tab, at the top
of the screen. If the program does not generate it, there may be no
amount to transfer because the dependant earned a high income
and/or received a certain amount of solidarity tax credit in the
taxation year. However, on the dependant's return the Schedule S
will still be generated.
