Why did I receive an "Account notification"
email?
The email you received indicates that changes were recently made
to your UFile ONLINE account (most likely by you). It only refers
to changes to your account information and not your tax return
data. Furthermore, it only applies to accounts created for tax year
2010 and later. The email is generic and does not specify which
changes were made.
This is a security feature. Should an unauthorized person gain
access to your account and make changes, the notification email
will alert you. If you or someone you have authorized to access
your account (e.g., your spouse) did not make any account changes
recently, you should login to UFile ONLINE, change your password,
and review your account information to make sure it is
accurate.
Any of the following actions will trigger an account
notification email to be sent:
- changing your user name
- changing your password
- changing your e-mail address
- adding a second email address or SMS
- changing your security question or answer to it.
